Lorelai begins to panic as her involvement with Max grows more serious. Paris witnesses a private moment between them during Parents’ Day, leading to unintended consequences for Rory.

Tensions persist between Lorelai and Emily following their fight, but things are put into perspective when Richard is rushed to the hospital from the family Christmas party.

Rory and Dean fall asleep after attending her first dance together, reopening old Gilmore family wounds and landing Lorelai in hot water with Emily.

Max and Lorelai run into each other one snowy evening and have an impromptu date. Rory is absorbed by her fledgling relationship with Dean, leaving Lane feeling neglected.

Stars Hollow prepares for the Autumn Festival. After Rory and Dean share their first kiss, Lorelai invites him to movie night, much to Rory’s chagrin.
