Season One

After three months of dating, Dean stuns Rory by saying “I love you.” When Lorelai goes solo to Friday night dinner, Emily seizes the opportunity to fix her up with a man.

Rory’s father, Christopher, visits Stars Hollow for the first time. Old grievances come to a head at a disastrous family dinner, and Lorelai and Christopher discuss their relationship.

Rory and Dean argue about gender roles after watching The Donna Reed Show. When Lorelai loses track of a baby chick Rory is hosting for a school project, she summons Luke for help.

Rory tries to bolster new friendships by inviting the Chilton girls to a Bangles concert. Meanwhile, Lorelai learns about an ex-girlfriend of Luke’s.

Lorelai and Rory agree to two awkward double dates; Lane has a crush on a dim-witted friend of Dean’s, and Sookie has her first date with Jackson, whose rude cousin is in town.
